About:

I am a native of Gaston County, North Carolina. My career with the US Department of Justice brought me to the DMV in 1985. I understand calling as an unequivocal commitment to a steadfast belief that God wills that needs known to Him are addressed through your obedience to His will for your life. In my junior year of high school, God called me to the teaching ministry as I silently revolted at the joy my history teacher derived talking about chattel slavery in the United States. I answered God's call to pastoral ministry in a prone position on a macadam, peering downrange through a Leupold scope at a target 100 yards away. In response to my callings, I've worked in various roles in local churches and church associations, including teacher, trustee, deacon, Sunday school superintendent, youth pastor, and pastor. I also worked as a teacher at a community college and at the FBI National Academy. My responsibilities at Leland include facilitating four courses and the annual conferences for the Institute for Justice Formation.
