Dr. Daniel Carro was a participant in the original conversations that gave birth to the John Leland Center for Theological Studies and has been Professor of Divinity at Leland, since the year 2000. From 2004 to 2015 he was also as the Latino Ambassador of the Baptist General Association of Virginia.
A pastor and professor for more than 25 years in his native country of Argentina, and since 2000 in the area of Northern Virginia, Dr. Carro has also been involved with the Baptist World Alliance, of which he was the Regional Secretary for Latin America for several years, and its First Vice President from 2010 to 2015.
While in Argentina, from 1978 to 2000, Dr. Carro served as Professor at the Seminario Internacional Teológico Bautista in Buenos Aires. Since 1973 to 2000 he also pastored five churches. Coming to Northern Virginia, from 2000 to 2004, he pastored the Hispanic Congregation of Columbia Baptist Church (Falls Church, VA).
Carro is the author of a Commentary on James in Spanish (Comentario Bíblico Mundo Hispano. El Paso, Texas: Editorial Mundo Hispano, 2005. ISBN 0-311-03147-1); author and editor of Sectas y Movimientos en América Latina (Buenos Aires: UBLA-ABAP, 1991. ISBN 950-9074-85-3); author and editor of Contemporary Gospel Accents (Macon: Mercer University Press, 1997. ISBN 0-86554-505-7); author of a Greek grammar Elementos de Griego Koiné (Buenos Aires: SITB, 1990. ISBN 950-43-3612-4), and one of three General Editors of Comentario Bíblico Mundo Hispano (El Paso, TX: Editorial Mundo Hispano), a Bible commentary in 24 volumes written originally in Spanish.
