Our Admissions Process

At the John Leland Center, our admissions process is flexible and accessible. We feel strongly that there is a place at Leland for those who are seeking to be trained theologically. Once you learn more about us, you will be convinced of this as well.

Step 1:  Get Information

Peruse our website and then schedule a time to come to campus to meet with one of our enrollment counselors and learn more about what Leland has to offer. To set up a visit at Leland or to get more information, email enrollment@leland.edu.

Step 2:  Pick the Right Program

Leland has options. Our programs of study are designed to equip the entire body of Christ. So, whether you feel called to pastoral ministry, are a lay leader or desire to one day teach at a college or seminary, we have a program for you. We offer both graduate-level programs for college graduates and an undergraduate-level program for those who do not yet have a college degree. Our classes are held in the evenings, so that we can reach those who work full-time during the day. Moreover, as a member of the prestigious Washington Theological Consortium, our students benefit from being able to take classes at other member schools and study in their libraries.

Step 3: Apply to Leland

Applications and fees can be submitted on-line. Our admissions deadlines are:

Master’s Degree Programs June 1 Fall Enrollment
  December 1 Spring Enrollment
Graduate Certificate Programs August 1 Fall Enrollment
  January 1 Spring Enrollment
Diploma Program August 1 Fall Enrollment
  January 1 Spring Enrollment

Step 4:  Make a Plan

Successfully completing seminary will take an investment of your time and resources. The best way to prepare is to make a plan. Visit our Financing your Education pages (Tuition & Fees / Scholarships & Assistance / How to Pay) to learn more about your options for paying for your studies. In addition, once admitted to Leland you will attend an orientation where you will be given tools that will help you to successfully navigate your seminary experience.

Step 5: Accept Your Admission & Enroll In Classes

Once you accept your admission, you will participate in a new student advising session and new student orientation to help you register for classes and learn more about the academics, spiritual formation and community life that you will be participating in. Welcome to the Leland family!
