Adjunct Professor, Biblical Languages
PhD, Oxford University
In Fall 2016, Troy Cudworth will begin his first year at Leland Seminary, teaching Biblical Hebrew. Previously, Cudworth taught Old Testament exegesis, theology, and archaeology at the University of Oxford, where he also finished his doctorate in 2014.
Cudworth’s research has focused on biblical historiography and war in the Old Testament, two interests that came together in his book War in Chronicles: Temple Faithfulness and Israel’s Place in the Land (Bloomsbury T&T Clark, 2016). His more recent research has examined other themes in the books of Chronicles and the books of the Deuteronomistic History which have been published in Biblica, Vetus Testamentum, and the Journal of Biblical Literature.
Earlier, Cudworth taught middle school special education in California for four years. He is a graduate of Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and Wheaton College.
